silenx are great but mind your whole in your pocket! lol
decent, expensive and worth it!
otherwise anything!
or you could get some cheap ebuyer ones and 7v them, then they will be really quiet and should be suitable!
the fans (from ebuyer should be about 80p!)
120x120x25 Papst Case Fan 4412 F/2 GL will be great

i second the silenx great fan, can't here it, very expensive but worth it i also have it fitted as the second fan in my antec sonata
Panaflo are a decent and reasonably priced option http://www.dorothybradbury.co.uk/
I'd second that - got a 120x38mm bought from there on my heatsink. quiet, powerful & free delivery too :)Quote:

had a look at the silenx fans. Very impressive.
will it really make any difference if i go for the 11dB model or the 14dB one?
Cheers
incidently i've found them on Kustom PCs (£22 delivered).
does anyone know anywhere cheaper or better to shop, or is this place ok.
Cheers.
depends are u going to run it off the fan only 7v connections?
yeah the panaflow ones are great, although for serious cfm (wont need it though for a case fan) look into the delta range
Get a panflo and 7v it if its too loud - cheaper option than silenx
delta senslow 86.52 CFM,, 37.6 dBA and thats at 12v
so at 7v it would still kick ass and be very quiet/silent
yep i will be running it off the fan only connectors.
So what do yo think?
on the 11dba 14 dba difference, to us dumb humans there is absolutely no audiable differecne, only difference is that the higher dba (silenx) the more cfm (thorughput you will get)
but bear in mind that if you have a lot of air being pulled in or pushed out it can create air noise as the air goes through grills etc, and that is what you may be able to hear as a result, and may differentiate between the two silenx products!
i would go for panaflo for decent flow but not as silent as the silentx's
Looks like Coolermaster have jumped on the bandwagon - a new 120mm fan with 13dba :-O
http://www.coolermaster.com/index.ph...20Fan%20Series
Can't find it for sale in the UK anywhere yet though - and no reviews either... but when it appears it's bound to be dirt cheap - those silenX jobbies are massively over-priced for what they are if you ask me.
Lol those coolermaster 120mm fans have to be the worst fans I have ever seen 11cfm
Even a silent 80mm fan can shift over 20cfm :p
11 cfm? what a joke.
.
That's probably not true. 37.6 is a lot more noisy than 30, because decibels are an exponential measurement. And 30 is quite audible above normal household noise.Quote:
