Dont know myself dont have madden 2005, have you tried disabling one of the ports via Start - Control panel - System - Hardware - device manager - Human interface devices - HID-compliant game controller

And disable one of the two entrys, perhaps the ports are interfering with each other, and turning one off would remove this.

    No way finally.

Try this, stop the car, look at it in a way that you can see the front wheels (not sure if its possible on PC) and then see if you can control the amount of steer through pressure sensitive

Also, can you control the acceleration properly too?

I just got in from work, so only just read your message.

I Tried pressing B like ben_wade has said and got a good front view of the car, moved the analogue sticks in tiny increments and the tyres moved in tiny increments

Also if i move it quick it moves quick, slow it moves slow.

And if i push the stick to the extreme the tyres are pushed to there extremes too.

If you put the controls for deccelerate and accelerate on the analogue stick it increases-decreases speed depending on how much you push the stick.

(But personally i have them on the shoulder buttons)

    Hope this helps you

This forum has spewed up , i'll have to re-write the post i made yesterday.

What i originally asked was if the pressure sensitive buttons worked, not the analog sticks. All the buttons except the start/select/analog and the sticks are pressure sensitive on the PS2. Meaning they have 100 (or 256, cant remember) levels of sensitivity, the harder you press them, the more input is given to the game. The system works very well, but i have yet to see an adapter that supports that feature in game.

To test it, try setting the steering to the D-Pad, and see if you can control the levels of steering like you could woth the stick

right tested it again with the D-Pad this time not the stick.
If i tap the D-Pad fast right or left, i get a half turn of the steering if i keep my finger on it i get full lock.

But it's nowhere near 100 or 256 sensitivity seems to be 2 well on nfsu it do's anyone else want to check?

Yeah, sounds like just standard digital then. With pressure sensitive you could clearly hold it at accurate levels.

    Question ps2 to usb converter

I have a problem with the joytech converter i bought from play.com, there seems to be lag when using it in any game i play. Has anyone else experienced this and have you managed to solve it? If you have then please let me know 'cos it's really annoying me now.
Also, if your having problems with the "permenant up" using the converter i tried plugging in my other playstation pad into the 2nd controller port and it solved it instantly.

I think that might be to do with what sort of controller you use. I have no problem with my official PS2 controller but i had that problem when i plugged in my PSX steering wheel

The controller/s i've used are official PS2 & PSOne pads but no matter which i use, it's always seems to lag.
I used to use a sidewinder pad through the gameport on my SBlive card and i didn't have any problems but since changing to this device it's been a disappointment.
My main reason for having it was so i could play Streetfighter Alpha 3.

Go to Run -> (Type) Regedit -> HKEY Local Machine -> System -> Current Control Set -> Control -> Media Properties -> Joystick -> OEM -> And Delete VID_OB43&PID_0003.
    Fixed it for me!
As a suggestion, I'd back up your files, just incase you do something and it causes your pc to crash and burn up. Although thats highly unlikely
