Argh I Dunno What To Do!!!

I have an abit NF7-S Rev 2 mobo

ok well i updated my bios to the tic tac manta ray xt d26 (i think thats what its called) and i tried to oc but still cant hit 220 fsb stable. I had vcore at 1.85-1.9 and the vdimm and the other ram voltage thing at max and still nothing. I havent tried messing with the timings though. DO i just set them higher? at what intervals?

Could it be my psu thats causing the probs? my rails are always the same whenever i check (its a raidmax 420w psu) i kinda want a fortron 530w psu but i dunno anymore

ill be getting about 75 bucks next week (or around there) what would be better

    get my fortron 530w psu

    buy a mobile 2400/2500/maybe 2600

or save up for my a64 system (it would be a 2800 and one of the cheapest mobos i guess)

i only get payed about 75 a month and im quitting my job probly by the end of november (paper boy lol) so ya i dunno what to do

I dont think you'd get a great overclock with a barton period mate.
Have u tried lowering the multiplier and retying.
If ur desperate to gain a decent overclock, cheapest bet is a mobile chip.

It sounds like you've hit the limit of the cpu. The psu sounds like its fine to me.

If its a standard Barton with a locked multi then 220 is pretty good (11x 220 =2420) and you wouldn't get alot more out of a mobile, maybe 25/2600, but that isn't worth the extra money imo, save up for an A64 if you're not happy with what you've got

ya multi is locked, the thing is it doesnt run stable at 220 fsb, i ran prime for like 5 seconds then it failed

i havent tried messing with the timings though. What would i try

    Row-actice delay-8
    ras-to-cas delay-3
    row-precharge delay-3
    cas latency time-2.5

it would probly be a waste of money to buy a mobile 2400 and get about the same results because i then would have spent $200+ should i still go with a fortron 530w though? i kinda want another psu for some reason

Get rid of the tictac BIOS.
They are very unstable and cause a lot of problems. Im talking from first hand experience here
