    FX-55 Overclocks...what does your's do?

Man that strained silicon is really something. My week 39 FX-55 does 2900+MHz @ 1.625v on air 3D bench stable! My God!!! I'll be freezing it this weekend and I'm hoping for 3400MHz+ at -50c idle.

Anybody else been playing with the FX-55 and wanna share?

Also, anybody had luck freezing their Winchesters?

    Thanks all!

How does it manage in prime95 torture test at that voltage?
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.

I'm more into 3D stuff but I'm sure it is prime stable at least up to 2860MHz (220x13) on air. Ran it a couple of hours with no problems. I'll do some more prime95 later.

Looks like Saturday is bench day for me. I'm gonna freeze the CPU and put the X800 XT PE on water to see if I can get into the top 5 or 10 in 2k1. Will run some pifast also and maybe 2k3 and 2k5 if I have time.

Oppainter (Eric) says he had trouble running Win2K with a frozen FX-55. I'm hoping it's his motherboard. Anybody have any luck freezing an FX-55 and running it on Win2K? I may have to run Win 2003 Server.

WildmonkeyUK: That's and expensive paperweight dude!

It's an expensive CPU for sure but still cheaper than many of the high-end (and MUCH slower) Intel chips. If you want to play with the big dogs you have to pay. It is more than most people need but far less than they want.

Not finished testing by any means but I can do screenies at over 3GHz @ 1.6V on air (FX-55) with 70 deg f ambient temps. It's 3D bench stable @ 2900MHz+ and the temps are fantastic. This chip is a beast.

Do you have a way to test your Winchester @ sub-zero temps? That's what I'd like to see. I have not seen anybody successfully freeze one and 3D bench.

    Cheers!

    it's not mine

We got them in at work and someone wanted the "batch" code etc as you normally do.

I'm personally gonna get a 3500+ when I get around to getting a SLI motherboard and some nice graphics cards to SLI.

I've already got 1/2 the parts - such as memory, HDD's, optical drives and case - just the main bits now and I'll be happily speeding along for a long while
