looks like now nvidia has sorted their SLI drivers out for a change.

It is actually fairly nippy. However, it needs 256mb cards and a quite powerful pair of GPUs for it to be of benefit (eg 2x SLI 128mb 6600GTs are still slower than a single 6800GT). At the higher end the amount of extra performance for the cost is surprisingly good iirc (60-70% extra performance for 100% extra cost - feel free to correct me on this one).
