Price check - Microservers + powerline network devices

    Hi All,
Considering a hardware refresh to replace my storage boxes and ESX box which would free up:

    Microserver N36L - 4GB RAM
    Microserver N40L - 8GB RAM
    Microserver N40L - 16GB RAM

I'm planning on upgrading to Microserver Gen 8s with upgraded Xeons. What're these worth?

I've also upgraded a bunch of network infrastructure, so I've got a couple of TP-Link 500Mbps powerline adapters. Again, what're these worth?

    Regards...

I am considering a low powered NAS solution so interested in Price too. Power line adaptors about £20 iirc.

Re: Price check - Microservers + powerline network devices

Ok for the last 12? ish months the MicroServer cashback has been a lower £50 which would of helped you out however for this month they have upped it to £100 again, reducing the value of your systems (but getting you extra off the Gen8 if you go for that!)

So you can get the N54L (56% more powerful than the 36L) new for £150 but thats with 2gb of Ram.

Personally I would say £80ish for the N36L.
As for the N40L you are better off as ram is actually quite expensive at the moment. Maybe £100-120? or £130 for the 16GB?

Just throwing things out there based on what Ive looked at recently when thinking about selling or upgrading my own N36L

Re: Price check - Microservers + powerline network devices

The servers as of this month will be probably worth about £40-50+ used as a base (CPU only). A new N54L is £150 with £100 cashback

The most valuable part is the RAM, especially if it's ECC. Not sure the value on that though

Powerline adapters... are they pass through? I think £30-40 is probably about right

Can't comment on the microservers but probably unlikely to get £40 for the powerline adapters as new ones are about £45.

Re: Price check - Microservers + powerline network devices

I think finlay's pretty close, although a new N54L can be had for under £130 at the moment on serversplus.

I sold an N36L for £60 in June.

N54L looks to be £197.94 at Serversplus from what I can see (so under a ton after cashback)

Must've dropped since I checked. That is a ridiculously good deal.
