Looking for a USB cable supplier

    Hi all,

I'm looking for a recommendation for a supplier of USB cables. My requirements are as follows:

1/ 1.5m or 2m length for all types
2/ USB 2 Male Type A to Male Micro USB, Male Mini USB and Male Type B are needed. If the supplier also has USB 3 options then that's good but a lack of USB 3 isn't a deal breaker.
3/ Colours - not black or white. Ideally I would be able to get each type as a different colour.
4/ Decent quality and price are taken as standard. If anyone can provide anecdotal evidence about usage good or bad then that would be appreciated.
5/ Not nylon/fabric covered. Flat would be a bonus but not essential.

The usual suspects only seem to have black & white or colours if you get Micro.

Thanks for any help with this one.

Re: Looking for a USB cable supplier

The only place I've found real versatility of colour is eBay, but the quality of some of the ones I've received has been really poor. Reminds me, I need to glue the housings together at some point to stop them falling apart every time I remove the cables.

In terms of quality and variety, I've always gone to Kenable when eBay/Amazon/Scan don't fit the bill, but I don't know whether they've got precisely what you're after.

Thanks for the Kenable suggestion - I might look at some of their other stuff. Sadly their cables are too monochrome this time.

Re: Looking for a USB cable supplier

I've just had a look at my usual ebay suppliers and they're all black & white only - unless you want a blue USB3 one

Could you compromise by taping coloured stickers around the cables at either end?

Re: Looking for a USB cable supplier

I could compromise with coloured end caps or something but not tape. The Micro ones (and HDMI) are easy, the others are a pain. This isn't just for personal use so I have to make an effort on appearance

Re: Looking for a USB cable supplier

I've used this company in the past for my home cinema cabling. As above though, the only colour available other than black & white appears to be blue for USB3 cables...

Thanks for the reply, I looked at Lindy the other day. A colleague had recommended them for reliability/build quality. Another monochrome supplier though.

If this for professional use, you might consider one of these - it produces very professional labelling

Hmm...well unless my Google-fu is below par, I can't seem to find anything that isn't braided. A gap in the market maybe for someone with a bit of entrepreneurial spirit?

I was really surprised when I went looking (before I posted here). Cables always used to be one of the easier items to mod with. I found orange Mini B but they were 'high-end' ones aimed at photographers. Also £20-30 each or something daft.

Thanks for the reply & I have a Dymo somewhere. This needs colours whether they are primary or pastels
