    1t / 2t

can pleaase someone clear this up 4 me, i been told to run my 3200+ 1t

(Like Rave said, make sure u're running at 1T as this will affect the performance a lot on a 64 system Some motherboards don't like 1T overclock tho)

as i loose performace if not, but wen i tried this, with 1t i lost loads of performance and wen i look at settings i see mem is running @ 100 mhz?
    is this right
    ?
i am a noob so maybe i cocked somthing up :x

i have got an amd 3200+ winchester 90 nm an msi neo2 plat nforce3 , xms corsair 4000 pro. so far tests i have done shows my memory is a bottleneck as it struggles anything over 216 fsb so i was wondering wot mem would b good. an explanation of this 1t 2 t would b appreciated as i have no idea wot it means, last night i jus tried to boot up using 1t and mem at 200 max fbs (1:1) and it wont boot, i have to clear cmos to allow boot again

Seems strange that you PC4000 (DDR250) would be the bottleneck at 216FSB... ? Try setting the timings to the SPD values in the BIOS (or check the default latencies on the corsair website).
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

have you tried changing HTT from 4* to 3*? You won't see a performance loss but will be able to clock higher.

You've got something wrong with your memory settings. I'm getting a Neo2 this weekend so I'll check it out.

Try this after you have cleared your CMOS and loaded failsafe defaults:

    1) Set LDT x4/800MHz max (x3/600MHz max if running CPU base freq > 250).

    2) Set all memory settings to auto if you are not sure of the default timings or are unsure about exactly how to set them manually.

    3) 1T/2T is the command rate. Go to Corsair's web site and do some reading if you want to learn about that stuff. It will help you a lot. For your purposes it is enough to know that 2T lowers your performance greatly and should be avoided if your memory will run at 1T.

    4) Don't try to boot the machine at higher than 215 base freq at 2:1 memory because some hard drives don't like it and you could scramble your OS if you don't have your BIOS set properly so that the AGP/PCI buss is locked at a speed that your hard drives can live with. Boot at a lower frequency and then use Clockgen to change your multis and/or base freq.

    5) Go to Xtremesystems.org and other sites to learn as much as you can about overclocking Athlon 64s. There is a lot to learn.

    Good luck to you.

Id say its more likely the mobo/cpu/setup giving the problems, not the ram. Ive only done AXP o/cing though, theres quite a lot of new stuff with A64

If your 4000 doesn't do its rated speeds it is not a mem problem, usually mobo/cpu combo fault. Just follow What StromPc said above and let us know how it goes.

    i ve tried timings at 3 4 4 8 also on auto timing s also 2.5 4 4 8,

BTW....bios update 1.3????? is there a link for this..????

also i have tried htt 4x and 3x, the htt goes ok til 285 then its unstable, the cpu seems to max out around 2400 2500 mhz but any thing around 220 fsb on the memory (regaurdless of htt and cpu settings are really within thier limits) pc is unstable, also putting vdimm to 2.85 seems to actually make my system lesss stable i find 2.80 is better for stability

i want to run 275 htt 2.4 ghz cpu and have mem @ 1t 1:1 so it also will be at 275 fsb

so wot i am trieng to achieve is 2.475 mhz clock speed with 9x 275 htt with mem @ 275 1t 1:1 should b 2475 mhz. atm i m haveing to run mem @ 166 mhz not 1:1 with maxes out at 220 fsb wen htt is still @ 266, i am pretty sure better mem will give me much more performance. mem that can run 1:1 1t timings @ 275 fsb minimum.
lol firelord imo i need more than pc3200 to get this fsb i need. and pc3200 running at 250 mhz? how?

so any one had mem running @ 1t 1:1 @ 275 or over please let me know.

As i posted on your other topic about the k8n neo2 bios,
"MuzTee, official MSI website has the latest 1.3bios for the Neo2, or you can try beta from here:
