    Overclocking Help - Noob

Ok got an MSI - KT6, XP2800+ (Barton) and 512 crucial 2700, what i'm wondering is will the chip & ram run on a 200mhz bus ok - anyone any experience of this. Also my CPU temp is always around 50 is this about right or a bit on the high side?

The ram is only rated to 166mhz speeds. you need 3200 ram for 200mhz fsb.

Temp sounds ok, but if you are planning on OC you will want it around the 40's at stock tbh.

Start by locking your agp/pci busses if you can and then increase the fsb a step at a time. you should be able to find the absolute limit of your ram this way.

All the Barton core CPU's ive heard of run fine at 200 fsb with the appropriate RAM.

Yeah, the RAM will be a problem if your looking to run at 200FSB although the CPU sould handle it.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

Had my crucial 2100 at 200 MHz. 2700 should do it, but if you bugger it by trying to do 200 MHz I won't accept any responsibility! You are the one changing the FSB on your computer! (Just to cover my back!)
