    Weight ~5kg (without charger)

Totally defeats the point of a laptop IMO. If a laptop cannot be comfortably carried around (<3kg), then why does it exist? Laptops should be as portable as possible, and 5kg aint.

Actually, according to them weight is 14 ounces ~0.4 kg, which is pretty easy to lug about, but frankly I doubt they will take off. They are a solution to a problem no one has, and they just don't seem that useful really.

Obv. This is based around the specs, I have yet to play with one of these vapourous machines.

I think we're talking about two different machines..

David and Caged appear to be talking about the latest review laptop, but I was talking about the OQO as a guess, and that's what headbrace appears to be talking about too..

    OOhhhh

    /stops barking at PDA tree
    /Starts barking at Lappy tree

Certainly looks pretty damn swish, although it is 'kin big. While it is a desktop replacement, it is still very heavy and very large. Is the 17" screen widescreen, or square-ish. Also, the battery life is frankly shocking. Surely they could sort out some better throttling etc to eke out more time, I doubt that you will use all the 4squillion terahertz that it has all the time

At the moment, I can't see it taking off that well. It's not really that portable at all, and frankly a sff pc would probably work just as well and be just as transportable in the long run.

There's a market for them in terms of the rich LAN gamer.

    And that's about it.
