Question Noiseblocker S3 - too big

I brought myself one of these to replace the stock fan in my Shuttle ST62K Zen XPC. Tried fitting it today and lo and behond it too big. Its twice as thick as the ordinary fan and I don't think it will fit in the cage that goes of the ICE cooling heat sink.

Is the S4 any smaller? Has anyone else found this and got a way round it?

    cheers

    Shaun

The noiseblockers should be 2cm thick from memory , the problem is that shuttle have used thinner fans in some of their models. Mine has a thin 1cm thick fan.

The best/only fan replacement is the zalman fan that is part of their gfx card cooling setup.

    Havent tried these myself:

But specs look impressive. I have made a thread on another forum asking about what i can do about these new thin shuttle fans:

On the 2nd page you can see how one guy has easily fit a standard depth fan into the 15mm fan's place. Good way to do it i say.
