Upgrading, what to get?
My systems getting a little dated - not sure if its worth the money upgrading yet though..
Anyway Ive currently got:
1700+ @ 2.3ghz
nf7-s r2 mobo
9500np gfx
1gb of pc3500 corsair mem which can probably go to 230+ @ 2-2-2-7 @ 3v+ with a decent mobo - nf7-s has problems past 220 without proper modding.
Ive also got watercooling (of the DIY kind) for cpu, gpu, hdd, and nb, which is plenty good enough for all current hardware :)
This is what I am thinking of getting:
Amd64 cpu, one of the cheapest, and overclock far past the most expensive ones :)
AMd64 mobo, one good for overclocking.
Graphics card, probably ati's best offering, alhtough ps3 is tempting me to get nvidias - how ever thats spelt... :)
Any suggestions? As always Im more concerned with over-clocked performance, and not stock performance. There is such a large difference between the two.... I hear that amd64 chips overclock very well :)

Get the new Winchester 3000+ in a MSi Neo2 Platinum. NVidia will be faster than the ATI, especially in the NForce board. You'll want a matched pair for memory, OCZ Platinum EL is regarded as the best you can get at the moment. And make sure you have a good PSU. I like the Tagan 480.

Having thought about it, I think this is what its probably going to cost me:
Viewsonic VX912 19" TFT LCD - £370
S939 Nforce4 mobo - £100
AMD64 S939 CPU - £130
Nvidias best PCI-EX card - £400? thoguth may wait for the next gen ati...
Thats £1000, a [insert word here] lot of money!!!
Now if I think whats already been spent:
1700+ £45
2x nf7-s (I b0rked one) - £170
9700np - £220 + 9500np - £35 = £255
1gb bh-5 - £140
Lianli pc70 case - £135
Full watercooling - £50 + £50 + £55 + £20 + £20 + £20 + £20 + £15 = £250
21" crt - £60
120gb hdd *dead* £110 + 160gb HDD £110 = £220
CWT 550W psu - £55
£1260, so far. Thats not including all the little bits, or the parts for my other pc (some of which im using in here untill I upgrade, as others got b0rked).
I could then sell the 1700+, nf7-s, and possibly the 21" crt, to get back:
£120 :(
