Shuttle handle a 6800gt?
Ok i just got a 9600xt all-in-wonder but if my shuttle can handle it i would like to get an EVGA 6800gt. Would it have problems cooling it and blow the card out? Will it even fit in my case?
my specs:
Shuttle Reflexion Pc
220 w psu
I haven't modded my case or anything
p4 3.06 ghz w/ HT
1 gb ram
200 gb SATA hd
Basically i'm concerned if i could cool it without modding the card and case. I currently have a lan card occupying my pci slot. Thanks in advance for the help.

Can't believe no-one has replied to this thread yet. I'm pretty sure that 'most' 6800GT's will fit and run in a Shuttle with a decent (read Silent-X) as long as they have single slot coolers. I know XFX are single slot cards which will fit in the Shuttle.

Silent-x ? Single slot coolers? Does this mean that i need something else to cool it? By the way thanks for the taking the time to reply it took a while but im very greatful :).

Sorry, mis-posted that. I meant with a Silent-X PSU, which I'm sure yours has already as they need the power.
And with the coolers, I was referring to the stock coolers on the graphics card, some are thin (single slot) and some are huge (double slot).

I have the standard 220w psu that came with mine. I know gt's need a lot of power. If the one i have isn't up to the challenge could you suggest one to me because i haven't seen any small form factor ones on newegg. Thanks a lot for the help man i really appreciate it.

No reason why it wouldn't work but a new PSU will guarantee it

Where can I find some small form factor PSUs?

I live in the U.S. , any suggestions for place that will ship to me (and use us currency).

Would it really be much better to get a 250w psu opposed to the 220w one I currently have? Seems like kind of a waste to buy a $70 psu for only 30 more watts.

Dunno you make the choice you asked about a better psu.
btw what shuttle model is it ?
btw have a read of this

While I can't tell you whether on not the 6800GT will run in your Shuttle, I can tell you that I had probs with my 9700 AIW card in my SN45G. The extra current that the card drew meant that the power tripped as soon as I turned it on. Firstly I made a time delay circuit with a relay that meant the card didn't get any power until about 5 secs after boot up. Worked fine, but decided to get the SilentX 250watt PSU which works great and means no need for the curcuit. Currently I use the same GFX card with a SATA HD and PCI card, and another EIDE drive & DVD burner. Great little PSU. For 6800GT, I reckon it'd stand you in good stead to get one.

Check out this article on graphic card power consumption.

By my extrapolation, the 6800GT will work with a 220watt psu. But if it doesn't ... go buy a silent X 250 watt or get a new Shuttle, they all come with silent X PSUs nowadays
