    SteelSeries Kinzu V2 Buzzing Noise?

Brought SteelSeries Kinzu V2 (WAS BRAND NEW) via ebay a few months ago If i remember correctly, (doubt I'm covered as it was an ebay seller) £10.

right the problem when connected to any use slot it seems as if the mouse itself is not grounded I get a small buzzing noise through my speakers. I've tried:

3x Different speakers (still get the noise), Different brands to be sure, HP, Logitech and ALTEC
Tried mouse in 3 different computers (2 laptops, 1 desktop) still get buzzing.
    Muted microphone, line in etc.
connected different mice all laser/optical and these do not get the buzzing noise, only the Kinzu
Checked Power saving settings (all off)
Changed and mess with BIOS Settings nothing changed.

It's a nice mouse, sensitive, feels good in my hand and a bargain, Its just a shame this noise is driving me POTTY!

    Any ideas? Cheers/Thanks

I had a sensei that continuously made a buzzing noise from the sensor itself (I don't have speakers connected). If you put your ear to the sensor doe you hear a "scanning" noise? It drove me crazy - I really liked the mouse but returned it within 2 days because of it.

Yeh can hear the a buzzing noise with my ear to the sensor!
however the speaker Buzz only happens when the mouse is moved so it might be related to the sensor not sure thou

Re: SteelSeries Kinzu V2 Buzzing Noise?

If you bought it brand new you should be able to RMA it. It might not be worth it though if you only paid £10 especially as Steelseries aren't known for good RMAs. My guess is they've changed capacitor supplier and are using lower grade ceramic caps to decouple the sensor which is obviously polling at quite a high frequency. This causes the ceramics to resonate on an audible harmonic like the logitech G5 series and their scroll wheels.

damn, I was thinking about RMA but I've read a few Steelseries reviews that they've charged the buyer shipping to Denmark. Since this will probably be a few quid probably not worth it.

    Recommend any alternatives /similar mice?

    Cheers / thank you.

Re: SteelSeries Kinzu V2 Buzzing Noise?

Personally I went with the G400s, after trying a few mice in the shop it came down to this or the Imperator. The Imperator felt cheap for the money and I decided I wanted something more ergonomic. I feel you really have to go into a shop and hold a few - see what fits your hand nicely, in a lot of ways a mouse is more important than the rest of your computer as you interact via the mouse.

As a cheap mouse, my Perixx MX 2000 is really nice. I don't have any issues with it in terms of lag, and I really like the buttons. Worth having a look - you get a lot for your money!
