    Mouses

    Right. Two questions.

I am in Australia. I bought an Intellimouse Optical in Blighty a couple of years back, and the mouse button is working intermittently. Question 1: Can I get a refund/replacement from Microsoft, even if I dont have a receipt?

Question 2. What mouses are the best at the moment? I dont want anything cordless/blueteeth/kitchen sink. I just want a good ergonomic mouse with 5 buttons, a nice scroll wheel and decent software.

Did the mouse come with a 3 year or longer warranty on it? If not I doubt very much that you will get anything out of Microsoft, with or without a receipt.

As for a good mouse at the moment, the MX 500 is a great mouse, very easy to use, feels nice in your hands and unlike most/all MS mice it does not feel cheap.

Swapped out four or five mice with Microsoft now, all bought secondhand and they've never once asked me for a reciept...

The logitech MX500/700 do seem to be the kings of mice at the moment.

Just get the contact number for Microsoft from your local directory enquireys...

I'm sure they will ask for serial number and your details etc
    After that new mouse

(not sure if you are required to send the old one back, would presume so though)

    = razer boomslang 2.1k
get some mouseskates with it though (so it moves smooothly), as the pads on bottom r crap, so is the ball, replace it with one from a normal ball mouse (to get more sensitivity), this is perfect for gaming and ive not acctually needed to clean it yet, after 2 1/2 months. btw this is more comfortable than mx500, my brother has one and it doesnt feel as nice as it should imo.

i recently contacted microsoft cos both my mouses started playing up, and they asked for my serial number underneath the mouse, they said they were retail ones and still under warranty and sent me two new mouses, i then had to send mine back...

now thats good service, a RMA service that sends you replacements before taking in the bad duff stuff...

i tried to rma a microsoft optic explorer direct to microsoft, but they did not accept. this was because i had an oem version and they did not reconise (sp?) its serial number.

this was only 2 weeks after purchase with reciept
