The graphical interface

The iMac
The internet

Innovations in Computing? Kinda guess that assumes that Computers already existed at some point, so:
- Microsoft Windows 3.11
- Broadband for the masses
- VGA (anyone remember CGA??)
- VooDoo Graphics Accerlators (leading to dedicated GPU's)
- Creative Soundblaster sound cards
- TFT flat screen technology
- Optical Media (CD-Rom & DVD-Rom)
- 7200rpm hard drives
- Iomega Zip Drives
- USB

THe ability for a PC to do absolutely anything under the sun... Watch telly, write DVDs, watch DVDs, download at the speed of light... Years ago they were bought for typing letters to your nan or using Encarta 1995 to do the crossword. And that's about it.
