    MX700 Burnt My Finger!

I just took my MX700 out of it's charger, and my finger happened to stray onto the metal contact in the base. I now have a blister on my finger!

I had noticed that it sometimes wouldn't seat properly in the charger, and heard a very feint clicking sound in time with the flashing green light, which I ignored. My guess is the clicking was arcing at the contacts, which over time was enough to heat up the contact point! OW!

Ouch.... Cheers for the warning though....better be careful with mine as I tend to touch them all the time

odd, it's not actually that much power going through that charger, are you sure it's not faulty?

It charges the mouse, which is pretty much all it's supposed to do! If what I think happened is right, it doesn't need much power. It's not like it's heating up due to the amoun of current it's carrying (which would make the batteries get very hot as well!). Just the contact pad was heating.

how strange, I can't say I've ever noticed mine doing that, now and again the area with the contact pads on the mouse gets slightly warm from the charger, but never hot enough to burn..

The only problem I'd had is with grime building up on the contact pads stopping it from making a decent connection and charging up the mouse.
