what do u guys think about Captherms MP1120

Is the MP1120 over kill with its combined copper, titanium, stainless steel and aluminum vapour chamber.

I like the look of it

It somewhat removes the fear of leaking liquid loops and removes the fear of a noisy air cooler.

Overkill? Or future proof? didn't they say its supposed to last 15 years or something ridiculous? If true that would out run liquid cooling.

The thing they need to do is outperform the top aircoolers easily. Which may be difficult. Otherwise no one will consider it.

Just googled it, but really other than efficiency at getting heat off the transfer plate quickly its still going to be limited by the efficiency of the cpu:cooler interface and the size of the radiator when it comes to the cooling capacity. It certainly looks cool though.

Hate to say this but "Multiphase cooling" is not new, that's what heat pipes do.
The difference here is in the amount of liquid used inside it.
Which has been done in the past by Asetek, http://www.legitreviews.com/the-vapo...cro-review_257
The big thing with this new cooler is the special baseplate which is made by high explosive welding (with C4) copper, titanium, stainless steel and aluminum sheets together, which is pretty novel but expensive to do.

Please note that this cooler seems to suffer from the same issue as the vapochill cooler in that it needs gravity to pull the fluid back down into the the vapour chamber so it can only be mounted in limited orientations (the cooler has to be pointing upwards in a normal tower case, in a case where the motherboard is flat it can point in any direction)
