    PU fan error

    Hi guys/gals

    When I switch my PC on lately I get "PU fan error press f1 to enter setup". Note it is "PU" I'm not missing a character.
    PU = Power Unit?

    My PSU doesn't have any special monitoring cable and haven't changed any setting in the BIOS for a long time now.

    I did get a single warning about the 12v rail from Asus AI suite yesterday, but AI Suite is notoriously unrealiable. Tried firing up Skyrim for a bit and the 3/5/12v rails didn't move.

    Bit confused now, there's no odd noises and temp are all as normal too.

    Re: PU fan error

    It sounds like it could be you "CPU" fan that is playing up are you able to test another cooler? I would also try the system fans as well if you have any connected?

    Re: PU fan error

    cpu fan error sounds more likely, although that motherboard does have a power fan header, do you have a fan plugged into that header? if so then could be something going on with that fan.

    I've had AI warnings about my 12v before but only when coming out of sleep but that seems to be down to AI suite than an actual issue.
