You could easily remove the shuttle psu and have a standard ATX PSU on the outside but would look bad considered swapping the AIW for a standard 9700pro ?

Are you 100% sure the PSU is not powerful enougth? I mean ive seen 3.0 gig 9800 pros with 2 harddisks, combo drives and usb devices running just fine.

    Sounds a little odd.

yep when card in agp slot with the powermolex connected it just gives you 2 sec on power up then dead if you then remove the molex from card power up to you get a sceen saying "you need to conect the powermolex to the card.

Well try the external PSU, being very easy to do. Like I said, I am suprised to see this as the problem.

Its not mine, its one I just built for a friend (didn't like his SN41G ).

    Specs are:

    3.0 Gig
    2 80 gig IBM Harddisks
LG DVD-RW drive (I forget the exact name).
    512 meg Twinmos
    9800 Pro

I havn't noticed any stability problems. However the second PCI slot is not being used, is yours? Like I said, try the external PSU. I tried this on one of my own shuttles when modding the PSU with a window. Was quiet as anything. Would be nice to extend the cables of the PSU a hooge distance away from the shuttle. If you have the time slow the fans of the external PSU down too.

That could well be it, because other than the tuner the cards are pretty much the same.
