    Cooling Solutions

    Hello All,

Im running a GTX 770 with a very plain reference cooler and have a unoverclocked I5 with a custom cooler attached but my system seems to be running super hot and kicking out loads of heat to the extent have to stop playing as the room gets too warm! Being under heavy load seems to be the biggest issue with all the fans running super loud.

Does anyone have any possible solutions for this problem dont really have the funds for a 770 waterblock so probably have to be air cooling still so after any tips for card/processor coolers.

    Cheers for any advice.

The Reference cooler on a GTX 770 shouldn't really cause much of a problem, running a old overclock 670 here on reference and never seen it tip 80c, what type of case are you using is their enough airflow traveling through it from front to back etc.

It also depend on where you live so what temp is it outside , what temp is it in the room and do you have enough ventilation in the room as you dont want your computer to intake the same air and the letting the same hot air back out but since there isnt enough ventilation the air which the fans intake again is hot which causes temperatures to rise.

    Re: Cooling Solutions

If your GPU is putting out a certain amount of heat then it'll put out the same amount of heat energy with any cooler you put on it, the only improvement possible is that the GPU will not be as hot (yet still much hotter than your room is) and possibly quieter. You'd see the biggest benefit by getting some airflow through your room if you're thermally throttling before the chips start to slow down
