    Realtek AC1150 vs Creative Xi-Fi Fatal1ty

    Hello,

I want a knowledgeable opinion. I currently possess a DAC+Emp combo Fiio e09k+Fioo e17. If i will get a Creative Xi-FI Fatal1ty FPS (the old 2005 one) instead of my Onboard AC1150, will i get any boost in performance for my headphones?

How have you got it currently connected and setup?

If you're using a digital connection, ie the SPDIF, or via usb then quality not as such, but you would get the additional processing bits, eg THX, EAX and CMSS-3D
Although I think if you connect it via USB then it acts as it's own sound card meaning that other sounds cards are irrelevant.

I did not yet made the connection. Buy available options are optical / USB - most likely SPDIF will be the choice.

But using it for Music, will there be a noticeable difference in sound quality with those extra bits (THX, EAX and CMSS-3D) ? P.S. 2nd card is Creative Fatal1ty FPS (2005 y)

And If chose Creative Titanium HD - how good will that be together with all these?
