    Venturing into 64bit

Ok, it's that time of year again. I know I'm not the only one itching to upgrade so hopefully any responses to this post will help someone else too

ITALICS - Parts to be replaced

    Current system

    AMD Barton 2500+
    Geil 2x512Gb PC3200
    Connect3D 9800Pro
    Seagate Barracuda 160Gb
    Shuttle nForce2 motherboard
    Pioneer A07 DVDRW

    Possible upgrade

    1.)
    AMD Athlon64 s939 3000
    MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum
    ThermalRight XP-120

    £230

    2.)
    AMD Ahtlon64 s939 3200
    MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum
    ThermalRight XP-120

    £276

    3.)
    AMD Ahtlon64 s754 3400
    DFI LanParty UT nF3 250Gb
    ThermalRight XP-120

    £240

As I'll be moving from a Shuttle to a full ATX case I'll be able to overclock my 9800 (space restricted before). Can someone point me in the right direction of what additional cooling to buy (varying info on that subject it seems)?

Any suggestions welcome. I really appreciate it, I know you guys have to put up with a lot of this type of post!

    Cheers again!

I'd go option 1 and for your 9800 try an arctic cooler - they can be got for under a tenner for the 9800's

    Thanks for the advice man.

I was considering getting a WD Raptor HDD and a better PSU too. I move a lot of data around my system, do you think I'd really notice it?

If I were you, I'd go for one of the new 90nm A64s, so either option 1 or option 2...

As for the graphics card, your best bet would probably be one of those Arctic Cooling VGA coolers, unless you want to get into complicated stuff like watercooling...

    Edit: Beaten to it

A better psu - definitely if you're getting a standard atx case with included psu as they're usually carp.

Well It'll be going into a CM-210 case. I currently have a 350W Enermax PSU spare which is high quality but not that quiet
