    Mid-High lvl gaming pc build

Hi Hexus! This is my first post here, so I'll be a bit quick.

A local PC store in my neighborhood has an offer on a PC. Specs here:
    Case: Cougar MG100
    Processor: Intel Pentium G3220
    PSU: 450W silent power Bitmore
    Mobo: Gigabyte H81M-Plus
    RAM: 4 GB Kingston DDR3 1600 MHz
HDD: 500 GB WD 7200 rpm
VGA: Gigabyte GT 630 2 GB.

Now, before anyone goes awry with the 630, know that I already intended to swap it out with a 750Ti for some mid-high lvl gaming. I just wanted to know if it's worth upgrading to a higher grade processor for gaming.

    Help please?

i would recommend a quad core for a mid to high gaming rig

that rig will do ok but you will prob struggle with 1080p on some games and since your on about replacing the gpu its going to be limited by the cpu so it will never reach its max output

but it all comes down to the price if they selling that rig cheap then it could still do you ok for the price tag but if not it might be best to build from scratch if you replace the cpu and gpu then its prob not worth getting since there the 2 main hardware that can cost the most and it gives you the freedom to pick other stuff

I'm sure if you built one yourself you would get a much better spec for around the same price. To start with what's your budget? And what components do you already have? ie. monitor, keyboard, mouse etc...

How much they are asking for the pre-build?

But agree with Demon, rather invest every pound into a self build from the beginning. And yes, a budget you are following would be nice as well ;-)

Never heard of either the case or PSU. May be worth investigating as good ones will last you a lot longer than the rest of your build.

Don't skimp on a good case and PSU, they should last at least 5 years, if not more. A crappy PSU will damage your components, not worth the risk.

Re: Mid-High lvl gaming pc build

My budget is about 500 Euro.
The rig costs 380 Euro without the upgrade to the VGA. But since I'll be bringing in an old PC I'll be getting a lower price on it, so overall it will cost the same.
As for peripherals, my money's a bit tight for those. I'll basically be using most old components. Old Dell monitor and keyboard. Really, I want to get the PC first, then worry about the other stuff.
