    I got a iPAQ!

Hi guys, just got my first ever Pocket PC - a nice HP 4150
    with integrated blutooth and WiFi

so does anyone recommend any programs or anything cool to do with it?

don't know excatly what i am going to use it for - but i will find some use for it!
I have downloaded beta player - but not tried it out yet

can't use the Wifi until i get my wireless router though

found this site the other day which has lots of useful links for anyone else with a pocket pc: What can I do with my iPAQ

Beta player and a very large sd/cf card and watch video!

Sorry, just read your post properly. Seriously though get a good sized expansion card otherwise videos will be a nightmare.

whats the best way of copying files over, as i just tried to copy a 100MB file to the SD card (256MB SD) and it was taking forever - so i cancelled it.

can i just drag the files over to the card using a card reader or something - or does it have to go through active sync?

Card reader is best option. If its a usb2 one they are very quick indeed. There is also some cracking software out there for shrinking stuff down.

Try auto gordian knot, virtual dub or pocket divxencoder!

yeh thanks menthel - i don't have a card reader, but will get one soon.

i re-encoded an episode of simpsons already, got it to 100mb without really losing any quality - so it seems good

You may be able to push it a little further. 60-70 mb is as good as I get for a 30min proggy. I think that is with virtual dub.

with a few quid spent you could get a dirt cheap GPS system!

Tom Tom Navigator3, receiver, SD card etc.

yeh i know about GPS - and it seems good

i have got the Tom Tom 3 software already - so all i need is the GPS receiver and a car mount - and a car!

my cousin has just set his GPS & TomTom 3 on a old HP Jornada PDA he had, and he said it is excellent.
