    laptop upgrade help

    Hi,
I have the toshiba portege r830-139 and i want to upgrade the ram but can't find info online about how many ram slots it has etc. Ideally I would love to replace the 4gb 1333 mhz with 8 gb 1600mhz over two sticks. Also is it possible to upgrade the cooler within it in anyway? Any help would be great.

    Re: laptop upgrade help

Open the RAM slot and have a look.

Upgrading the cooler is a much bigger job - ultimately doable if you're happy completely taking the thing apart and making your own custom cooler that somehow better, but that's a huge undertaking for probably little return.

These are the people to help you with memory, http://uk.crucial.com/.

As Kalniel has stated, leave the cooler alone, it's a world of hurt.

    Re: laptop upgrade help

CPU-Z should give you clear indication about the empty ram slots (if any) and the ram slots currently filled.

Upgrade the cooler? Unless you design something yourself, highly unlikely. Can always use laptop coolers, like ZM-NC2000 laptop cooler.

    Re: laptop upgrade help

Laptop coolers are built in inside.. best way is to get a decent external laptop coolers.. I wiuld suggest either thermaltake brand or deepcool...
