    Grrr to mobo... help...

I brought a Vaio around a year back and am now thinking about updating my HDD and RAM... I have looked at my mobo and tis a ASUS P4SD-VX. Can anyone tell me if they know, or how to find out, whether it can take ATA133, and what max speed RAM is?

    Many thanks

From what little info I can gather on the net about this mobo, its a Springdale mobo, so ATA133 and PC3200 should be fine.

If the IDE interface is only ATA100 then the drive will only run at ATA133 much lke if you brought PC3200 RAM and only had 166FSB....

You could check using SANDRA though.

TBH theres virtually no diff between ATA100 and ATA133 anyway cos the IDE interface can't fill the bus.
