    Cheap MFP with duplex ADF?

As per title, just looking for a cheap multifunction with double sided scanning, any suggestions?

In my limited research I've found the Epson WF-3520DWF which for just under £100 looks alright, opinions?

Re: Cheap MFP with duplex ADF?

Someone asked that in the current ComouterActive, which I happened to be reading yesterday. They suggested (but didn't quite recommend) the Canon MX535 MFP, at about £65.

I've not used it myself, as I use a dedicated HP Scanjet scanner with ADF and duplexing, but it's quite a bit more than the £100 you mention, and is only a scanner. You can pick them up used, and I've found it to be a very reliable workhorse. Image quality isn't up to a dedicated photo scanner, but it's more than adequate for office use, document imaging, etc. I'll dig out the model number if you want, but from memory, it's more like £250-£300, scanner only.

Re: Cheap MFP with duplex ADF?

I bought the one from http://forums.hexus.net/retail-thera...ter-118-a.html mostly for occasional A3 printing, but it's also got an ADF on the scanner (not sure if it does duplex autofeed, mind you - that's a bit niche and probably not cheap). I could check about the ADF if you want, but I suspect it only does one sided scanning from it. OTOH, if you follow the links from that thread you'll find it's now less than £100 at ebuyer, and it's a great device that I've had no problems from in over a year of usage....

Re: Cheap MFP with duplex ADF?

Quick update, I ended up with the Epson Workforce WF-3520DWF for £85.

Had a quick play and I'm happy with it, does everything one would expect from a modern MFP and most importantly for me it does automatic double sided scanning and copying. Popped in an SD card and now there's a convenient place to collect scan jobs over the network.

Not really a downside, but duplex scans take a bit longer than the 60kg's of office MFP I'm used to. Still, I'm very happy that I no longer have to load a sheet, hit scan, wait, flip page, hit scan, wait and repeat 26 times.
