ummm ahhh err: 939 abit - asus or epox - msi?

Right its upgrade time, mainly as i have the opportunity to do it for free

i have decided to go for a 939 board and a winnie 3200 with which overclocking is to be done to a high level , i want atleast 2.6gig

i already have some corsair 3500 or OCZ 4000 gold to use for memory

major decision is which flamin board to get? ive read reviews and looked at various other forums for help and all i have concluded is that the MSI neo is a top overclocker but you have to cope with more bugs that than the celebs in IACGMOOH so thats off my list i think,unless there is a new bug free rev?

so its more a toss up between the

ABIT AV8
-looks to have many bugs in bios and im not sure on the overclockability of it,but i like the 3rd eye thing

Asus a8v
-ppl say it stable at stock ,not much mention of bugs but also not much mention of overclocking

Epox 9nda3+
-not much in the way of user comments,but matches the msi neo in overclockability- also not very widespread

i will consider the msi but only if i start seeing some positive comments on it

1 thing i want is stability my current p4 rig is rock solid and doesnt crash and overclocking it hasnt caused windows to fubar once ,1 thing amd from experience aint quite as good at matching, lets hope it aint still true

so which board should i get and why

Well, I have a Winchester 3500+ and an Asus A8V, and I'm doing 2.6ghz at 1.45v (260x10), air cooled (not stock though; XP-120)

Asus is rock solid, stable, overclocks well, water tight PCI\AGP locks, fair price, etc, etc.

Make sure its a rev2.0 and you are laughing.

I built my brothers new system last week for him with the Abit AV8. Some nice little features on it such as the auto-clocking feature when you want better gaming performance and as yet I've not noticed any issues with it when I nip round to help him advance through the latter levels of HL2.

The asus board as Vaul said is a cracker - the Rev 2.0's are great and there is not really much difference between the Abit and Asus in my books now.

The best advice I can probably give is go check the Abit forums and see if theres any people reporting issues with anything such as clocking limits, instability etc with the AV8.

I too am in the same position as you da ging. I have at the moment the neo2 down to order but Im not too sure whether it is in actualy fact the best overclocking board with minimal bug issues. Also you can't fit a xp120 on it and that is a bit of a hassle. Be sure to post which one you decide to pick and how well it overclocks also.
