    Pentium 530 w/ PCI Express Mobo + 6600gt, vs Athlon 3200+ with 9800xt for same $$

Very simple: I cant decide which is better
While the Athlong trounces the p4, especially @ 3.0 mhz on Games, the 6600gt trounces the 9800xt, and I can only get the 9800xt with the athlon as PCI Express isnt available. WOuld the p4 overclocked be more powerful with the 6600gt vs the Athlon w. 9800? All I care about it gaming framerates at 1280 x 1024 on my 19" LCD. In the end, these two systems end up being the exact same price

    So, for the same price:

    P4 530J (3.0mhz)
    Intel Board with 915p Chipset
    Xfx 6600gt 128mb Video Card

    VS

    Athlon 64 3200+
ECS 755-a2 mobo w/ Sis 755 Chipset (benchmarking or better than Nf3)
    MSI 9800 xt 128 mb

    Thanks guys. Input much appreciated

If I were you I'd wait till the Nforce 4 boards are available (any time now!!), as Athlon 64's are the cpu of choice for gamers. Couple it with a 6600gt and you'll be laughing.

    Reply re Nforce 4

True indeed Nforce 4 will be here soon. THough it is not available now. The way I bought my Athlon 64 3200 which I already own, was a package deal with the ECS mobo for $220. SO, if i get the Nforce 4 board, for...say.....$120 + Tax and ship, and I sold my ECS mobo for $30? ....... I would end up being $90 more expensive
