Please forgive my ignorance i'm new to your world. I've recently ordered some corsair xms2 533Mhz ddr2 for my MSI Neo 2 PLatinum 915p motherboard. Instead i recieved 675Mhz ddr2. My motherboard manual says that it only supports 400 and 533Mhz memory modules. Could anyone tell me what will happen if i put the pc2 5400 module in the board? Will it work, but at the slower speed?
It should just run at the slower speed, so there shouldn't be a problem. Normally, the RAM automatically runs in sync with the CPU's FSB.

thanks for that. just tried it, the system posts and the bios comes up no problems saying that the memory runs at 533Mhz but when i come out of the bios into windows set up the screen is all scambled. You can just just about make out the instructions and windows seems to set up albeit with slighly scambled graphics. However when it finally comes to run run windows a series of blue screen errors come up, but the screen is too scambled to make up what they say. Any ideas?
