    OK, Teach Myth...

I am hoping to get a AMD 3500+ and mobo.... But which ones? I have been told I want a Winchester... As for the mobo it will need to be the best and must have AGP for my 6800 ultra...
Heres the CPU I'm looking at... http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...103-498&depa=1 but the newcastel is cheaper... http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...103-463&depa=1

So which one? and which mobo?

The winchester is AMD's latest core for their athlon 64 processors I think, and the best AMD mobo currently is probably the Abit AV8 3rd eye

I noticed theres a via chipset or a single Nforce 3... Whats better? Keep in mind my massive amounts of harddrives...

Edit: Well I just got done reading this http://www.legionhardware.com/html/doc.php?id=353, all I can say is theres no dam difference and I just wasted 15 mins of my life!

It would have been better for Legion to have compared two MSI boards - without the big price differential (and with the MSI NF3 offering better overclocking) there would have been a clear winner.

May I ask what made you chose the via over the nforce3 ultra?

It was more Asus really than the chipset. I read reviews of the boards, and went for the one that was getting consistent thumbs up and not giving anyone any problems; that was the Asus. If it had been nForce3 or VIA I'd still have gone for it.

Get it mate; it'll do everything you need, its a great board at a great price.
