    Question 2600+ o/c

Right, I have a 2600+ t'bred attached to a nf7-s v2 on one side and thermalright slk-900 with artic silver ceramique on the other. Ive tried overclocking it and have managed to get to 2300MHz (200 * 11.5) with 1.7v core, completely stable. I thought this was pretty good until i saw ppl with 1700+ getting to this kinda speed! So what am i doing wrong? Why wont it clock any higher?

good clocking 1700+s are from faulty batches of 2600+/2700+ that were remarked at 1700 and 1800+ because they failed QC for the higher speeds, but with slightly more voltage they work fine. mines at 2.2ghz@1.8 atm, wont go higher without better cooling and a volt mod for my nf7-s

Aye, the great clocking 1700's are most likely all the famous JIUHB stepping, which is well known for it's high reliability in reaching high clock speeds.

Nowt wrong with your 2600's overclock at all.

if i can remember correctly the 2600xp starts off at 2.1ghz, so to clock to 2.3 is a low 200 increase were, my barton starts at 1.8 ghz and clocks all the way to 2.3ghz at 1.8v,

i have both the 2600xp and the barton, and saddly the 2600xp is gathering dust on my top shelf...

    That's a very respectable o/c you have there Dragonb4llz!

p.s. kamz, does your barton not run stupidly hot @ 1.8v?

Cheers but I havent tried it at 1.8v yet - too scary tbh

If I do try, what frequencies/multiplier should max out the chip?
