New components soon - would anyone like a mini review/user opinions on them?

As above, I've just bought the following:

    MSI H97 Gaming 3
    i5 4670K
    8GB HyperX Fury RED
    H440 Red&Black

Would anyone like info on them, experiences? Currently starting a little review / thoughts on gaming on the little system I built a few weeks ago for just over 400. Should give an insight into what you can buy for only a little bit of money

Start with some pics, I always enjoy looking at Motherboard porn. Those MSI boards look so pretty and should look right at home in a red NZXT H440 with a huge side window in it.

If you're going to do a review, have a look at MSI Command Center, see if it's as inconsistent for you as it is for me

Are you planning on running it with the IGPU?

I'd be interested in reading about how that performs when it comes to gaming.

It would also be interesting to read about your thoughts on how easy the case is to work in and about how well made the case is.

Would love to see some pictures too.

Re: New components soon - would anyone like a mini review/user opinions on them?

I'm going to keep my GTX 760 for gaming. Really, it's enough. I still run games at 1080p on the 1440p monitor, because there isn't artifacting and it looks just as good as a 1080p monitor really. Not worth the performance hit personally. I'd rather spend 200-300 pounds on maybe a G-Sync monitor (or free sync and an AMD GPU if prices for freesync monitors aren't any more expensive than a normal monitor)

    What is MSI command centre?

Ended up buying sleeved cables too, well extension. The H440 looks really nice to build in, and with the nice PSU shroud it should look the business.

There will be many photos! If anyone could give me some tips or ideas for them (I'm not familiar with photography really) that'd be great

I can't give you any accurate numbers, but I can tell you that 768P gaming at 50-60FPS is possible in a few games. Something like Battlefield wasn't playable, and Heroes and Generals was playable but not nearly as enjoyable as with a dedicated GPU

Command Center is MSI's software utility for motherboards; it lets you overclock your CPU, DRAM and IGP, you can use it to create a RAM disk, and to control fans. I haven't really used the overclocking, but I've found that the fan controls don't seems to stick most of the time after reboots, whether I've saved them or not.

Why did you buy a K series CPU with a H series mb?

H97 boards are still capable of overclocking (I've overclocked a CPU on my H77 board) so it saved me 20 pounds or so

Re: New components soon - would anyone like a mini review/user opinions on them?

Question people - 8 or 16GB of RAM? I only game, and don't really do anything else, but 16GB would make it look that much better (And damn the RAM looks good).

    http://prntscr.com/5ojusn

Also, I just thought - will I have to re install windows as I've got a new motherboard?

    Pics or it didn't happen

In all fairness, I have heard that the 4670k is just about the sweetspot right now

8GB is enough for your needs, but I can understand the draw of having 4 occupied slots when the HyperX sticks look that awesome,

I bought some, then decided to sell them (and return them if they don't sell) as I couldn't justify the extra £60 for looks!

Talk about being complicated. You really couldn't skip breakfast for the next 2 months just to have all the slots occupied?
