    £10 wireless mouse

I bought this from Amazon on a whim

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Full-Size-Er...ker%C2%AE+C200

I'm gonna play CoD now with it and see what occurs.. I gave up with wireless mice many moons ago.. but they've got quicker.. while I got slower.. and in Windows this seems ... pretty good tbh

    So... report back soon

    Re: £10 wireless mouse

    oh that works well

Windows drivers.. no download needed... thumb buttons mapped as Mouse 4 and 5 automatically.. so in-game just clicked them....variable dpi button works too... left it on central one.. chasges Windows slider for sensitivity.. and then tried the three settings in game on the fly

    all worked well

    £10 win!

The main reason for buying a "gaming" mouse is to have a higher refresh/polling rate (eg: 500Hz or more) for the sensor. Mice below 500Hz tend to be a pain when it comes to aiming at far away targets in FPS games.

I reckon a cheap Gigabyte M6900 wired USB mouse for £15 would serve you much much... better.

You can check the refresh rate with this utility.

but this one is wireless.. not wired

I have a gaming wired mouse.. I'm trying a £10 wireless one.... don't understand the comparison between this £10 wireless and the £15 with a wire....

    Re: £10 wireless mouse

I use a bluetooth M$ Sculpt mouse (£13~) to travel with my laptop (as its bluetooth that doesn't require the USB dongle) and its fine for the little bits of gaming I do with it but I've never tried some fast paced FPS action.... I think the laptop lag would cause more issue than any mouse inaccuracies

There literally is none. From your post I thought that you were going to use your new wireless mouse as an everyday gaming mouse to play COD, which is definitely not recommended.

I do play CoD most weeks but it's the old W@W version.. I'm not a quick player so it's fine.

The Logitech wired mouse I have up until now has been good and frankly.. this is just as good!

I'm clearly not a super gamer... both these mice show at 120 hz in that (rather cool) mouse tester posted

    Re: £10 wireless mouse

i had a similar one to the £10 wireless mice for a good 18 month, that i bought from here in the classified. Happy to say it is still going strong as my work mouse.

Only bad thing is that it seems to eat batteries, about 1 AA per month and thats Energiser Procells

Give Eneloop rechargeables a go; they're great for, amongst other things, low-drain uses like this. They're not like past Ni-MH batteries which would self-discharge in about thirty seconds...

Yes, eneloops or any of the low self discharge cells.

I have pretty much given up on disposables, the last few Duracells seem to have lasted no time and some have leaked, making me wonder if they were counterfeit.

There aren't many places where modern LSD cells don't outperform alkalines now; although alkalines have slightly higher theoretical capacity, it tends to drop a lot at high load so LSD's overtake. And Alkalines tend to leak under high loads too.

    Re: £10 wireless mouse

I recently found out from datasheets and some people measuring on forums that even in the exact same packaging and printing Duracell make different battery qualities depending on which shops they're selling to. These days if I use alkaline I generally only use industrial grade ones such as GP Gold or Duracell industrial. These are generally much better value than buying them in shops and last much longer (I just have some devices that can't run properly off 1.2V).

    Re: £10 wireless mouse

Yeah I used to have a digital camera which wouldn't work properly on 1.2V cells. However it also suggests the device isn't fully using alkalines either as they'll spend a lot of their discharge cycle below 1.2V.

Im going off this mouse... its lost the ability for the side buttons to work as button 4 and 5 even though they DID work.. so my ability to cook a grenade in CoD W@W has gone
