Got Rid of my Q-Tec! (almost!) :D :D

Was shopping in watford today for my chrimbo pressies and managed to pick up a new PSU as well as my planned PPC
Goodbye 400W Q-TEC, Hello 450W Hiper Chrome PSU

Any opinions on this PSU before i stick it in tomorrow?
Im thinking it'll be a darn site better than the Q-Tec!

Shovelling coal into a furnace and using the resulting steam to rotate a turbine attached to a dynamo to produce electric power would probably be more reliable than using a Q-tec PSU.

    Steps to take:

    1) Remote Q-tec. Quickly.
    2) Insert Hiper. Carefully.
    3) Profit.

Yup, I've had 2 HiPER's die on me too...

I sent one back, and got a replacement, and that died too.

it's the QTec that i've got running that's been the most stable for me!

AH AND SO I FINALLY RETURN WITH A WORKING PSU!!
DAMN HIPER and their infernally crap power supplies!!!
Shortly after writing the post "Will stick it in tomorrow" I decided to stick it in, and, guess what??
The fan appeared to have something obstructing it internally and sounded like an old train, and caused so much vibration I thought it was going to take off!

Anyway shortly after turning on I thought i smelt smoke/smell of burning so i hastily turned the damn thing off to find:
It had crisped my Primary 120GB HDD!

This past week I have been trotting to Pc World and have since:
    >Replaced the Hiper 480W Type R with a Jeantec 500W
    >Had to pay for a New 120GB HDD and am now FINALLY back in windows after a week of downtime

Anyway just thought I'd let you all know the jeantec seems nice and sturdy, very cool but not exactly the quietest fan in the world. I despise Hiper and discourage anyone from buying them (although this may b e a bad first experience) I'm wondering what Jeantec are like and I hope I can put more faith in this 500 Watter I have spinning around right now, deffo seems much cooler than my Q-Tec or Hiper
    Any thoughts?

jeantech's are cheap at pcworld and although hyper's arn't the best you can be sure they are better than Q-tec's! i don't know what the jeantech's are like but they box seemed quite hevy for the one i looked at so i reckon the should be Ok problem is they are a bit of a low key brand
