Hi all,
I just wanted to gauge opinion from fellow Hexites who are a bit more knowledgeable on this subject than myself.
I'm about to upgrade my GPU and was going to donate my gtx570 to the other half's PC. Said PC is an AMD build with what looks like some kind of generic 500W PSU (needless to say it was purchased before we met). I opened the PC up tonight but couldn't make out any branding. Anyways you can see where I'm going with this I'm sure. Just a little worried that it's not up to the job but there are a couple of other factors.
My significant other is not a gamer, it's mainly used for photo editing, so it's highly unlikely the 570 will ever be asked to stretch its legs again - its essentially being put out to pasture![]()
The rest of the system is not very power hungry - it an AMD based system with one internal HDD. I can't remember the exact CPU but I will find out. I think it was a quad core APU so don't think it pulls more than 100W, if that.
So the question is do you think it would be alright to install the 570 in this system?
Thanks
