Buying a US layout Mechanical keyboard in the UK

Hey Forumers, its a part rant part query, I recently bought two keyboards, one to use and one as a spare from scan:

Their returns department was understanding as I likened it to buying a Left hand drive car as advertised but getting a Right hand drive car instead, cause its the UK. He then pass me on to sales but unfortunately, as I found out from their sales department, they only stock the UK layout on all their keyboards.

This is despite using all the US layout in their images of the item on their sale site which they explain its only for reference and not the actual final product. They are not accepting any returns or replacements to the US style one.

So now I just have a keyboard that I find awkward to use for gaming (I've used a US style keyboard for 25 years now) and i'll give away to a friend.

Are there any websites in the UK that actually stock US style mechanical keyboard from a reliable brand?

Thanks for any info.

How does gaming change? The only keys that are different on US vs UK keyboard are the placement of £ / # and @ / " and even if the keys display a £ or the @ in the wrong place you can just set it to US in Windows and ignore them (you have been using it for 25 years).

I know you would prefer a 100% US layout but if its going to this much work (returning 2 keyboards and still looking) I would just get used to the couple keys that are different.

edit: Looks like \ is in a different location as well.

A bunch of buttons are a different shape too, like Enter.

As to the original question, how about importing? Many amazon.com sellers will ship to the UK

Just remembered, QPAD sell multiple layouts direct from their website too

I'm using a US keyboard now at work - a STRIX Tactic Pro mech. The enter key still gets me every flipping time.

Keys like Left Shift and Enter are smaller/differently shaped in the UK one compared to the US ones, if your used to using like your little left finger to hold it down but get a different key by accident, it can get rather annoying

Part of the reason is also if I'm going to fork out 80+ pounds for a keyboard, I want to make sure its what I actually wanted and saw displayed. If it was a cheapo 10 pound one then its not much of an issue.

I see, i'll check out that website also. In reply to your previous post, Razor also sells from the US but shipping time takes 2+ weeks. Hence that's why I'm looking for a UK based one so the shipping costs and time will not be too high. Thanks

Haven't used them because I don't have the money to afford to spend that much on a kb.

I've use them for some keycaps. They seem to have fairly competitive prices and a good selection of keyboards and layouts and their shipping wasn't overly expensive whilst being fairly quick to boot!
