PSU - Which to pic?! :eek:

I would like to know which type of PSU will suit my needs better and which power rating in WATTS i will need for my system:-

Maxtor DiamondMax 80 Gb HDD
512DDR Ram
64 Mb GeForce2
SoundBlasterLive Audio Card
16 x DVD Rom
Another 16 x DVD Rom
CD-RW Drive
Floppy Drive
7in1 Internal Memory Card Reader
Webcam
2 Hubs giving 8 USB's - Used up by a whole host of Devices.
I would love to add at least 3 cathodes, and another 2 fans to what i have { 3 fans}, making 5 in total.

Which couple of PSU's will be most relevant to my needs, please consider i need an effective, practical PSU that needs to be used a lot !!!

I have been told Q-TECS are no good and i should stay well away ??!!! Although i have seen a triple fanned, 650w PSU by q-tec for £39.

I'm lookin for something in that price range up to £55 Max. But with better quality as i have been told.

None of that's going to use up too much power, but it looks like you need a bunch of molexes, which probably means a powerful PSU. I know the Tagan 480 has 12, but you may be able to get a cheaper option to suit.

Whats a molex pls?

I have found a Thermaltake 480w PSU, is that any good and would it be relevant for my system as above?

A molex is the name of the plug that plugs into most PC device's (its the large one with 4 holes in it).
Thermaltake are a good PSU maker, yes

Molex is one of those little white connectors on the end ie connects to the device ie hard disc.

Thermaltake or Hiper 480w chrome is a good bet
