Looking for a home firewall/web filter solution?

I'm looking at either building or buying a rig purely to act as a wireless AP/firewall/web filter and possibly IDS via snort.

The Alix APU1D 4GB looks perfect but by the time I've added the WIFI card & cables I'm looking at not far off £300 - I cannot really justify that for something for home use.

I don't want a full PC and ideally it should be fanless.

    Any ideas?!

Unless I'm missing the obvious why not just get a Wireless AP? The majority will allow you to do the above at a lot less than £300. Other than IDS I've never used it so I'm unsure if its supported.

Why not something like the Raspberry Pi?

I'm using the dual nic quad core from here http://www.mini-itx.com/store/?c=105
It has a half height mini pcie which you might be able to fit a wireless card in to. ( I have a separate ap for that )
No spinning fans, all passive cooled.. and runs at around 13 watts measured from the wall.

The full install of pfsense has the option to add snort.
