CPU-z says Corsair CMX512-3200c2 is really PC2700

I recently bought some 2*512mb secondhand Corsair CMX512-3200c2 - this is the first time i've owned Corsair sticks.

Upon looking in CPU-z (v1.26) the SPD tad suggests one of the stick is actually PC2700! Is there a software error here or a know bug? The other stick registers as PC3200.

No I'm afraid certain sticks of Corsair marked PC3200 is actually SPD programmed as PC2700. I seem to remember it being a problem on certain A64 motherboards in the early days. People were complaining that they couldn't run their PC3200 at 400 MHz (200MHz 2:1).

The reason is that when XMS3200C2 was originally released, JEDEC hadn't ratified the PC3200 standard so Corsair programmed the SPD with the highest ratified speeds at the time which happened to be PC2700.

Once JEDEC published the PC3200 standards, Corsair modified their SPD info.

I have a 512mb stick of OCZ pc3200 that also comes up as pc2700 in cpuz.The stick does pc3700 speeds easily as well.

Does anyone know what chips this memory may be using? Am i right in thinking its deffo BH6?
