Hi guys, i am trying to build my own computer, someone helped me to choose these parts. I will run games like far cry 4, battlefild 4, simscity, from sand,... I will be running on 1024x780 (not sure the monitor size)

Seems like a good well rounded build to me. Only thing to point out is the SSD in the partpicker is a 60GB one and not 120GB. Also, it might be worth spending the extra £20 to get a R9 285 but if you're gaming on 1024x768 it might not matter too much anyway. (It's around 30% on average better for less than 20% the price on 1080p resolutions)

If you can afford it go with Ulti suggestion. It will allow you to upgrade your monitor and not suffer for a bigger resolution later (or now if your monitor is higher res than you think.)

Also I would upgrade the ram to this from scan:

1600 mhz is the sweet spot for ram speed and will give your system a boost over 1333 speed for very little money. Even faster ram is pointless for you as your not using onboard graphics.

If you're running on 1024x768 and not planning on upgrading your monitor any time soon I wouldn't bother with discrete graphics: get an A10-7800 or 7850k and run the IGP which will be plenty at that res. You'll need to go for faster RAM - 2133MHz ideally - but that won't add much to the overall cost.

Then you could save up some money and get a new GPU and monitor at the same time down the line, when you'll get more GPU performance for your money. The AMD 300 series will be released this year, which means the R9 290 etc. will move down the product stack and get cheaper, so if you wait you're almost bound to get more performance for your money. And the A10 APUs are essentially identical to the 860k athlon in terms of CPU performance, so you don't lose out that way when you do get a dGPU.

I looked at that option but the costs are almost the same:

Roughly £150 (7800) £162 (7850) for less performance than the discrete GPU and only saving roughly about £41/£29. Although I think you would also need to get a better cooler with the saved money.

As you said though if the OP is only going to play at 10*7 for a while the APU is a good option.

7850K is £109 at ebuyer, but yeah, I get the point - didn't realise the 860k was quite that cheap at the minute.

TBH, with a 1024x768 monitor it would almost be worth considering a much cheaper GPU like an R7 240 GDDR5 (£50) or R7 250X (£67) as an interim card - either of those should play nicely with most modern games at 1024x768 - then selling that when you upgrade to recoup some of the costs. In a year's time, who knows what will be available for ~ £110...

I would be more inclined to go AM3 TBH (FX 4300), not much price difference and you can put a beefier CPU in later if needed.....in fact I'd even lean towards spending a tad extra and getting an FX6300 right off the bat. AM3 boards are around the same price as FM2+ boards as well.

Both AM3+ and Fm2+ probably have a limited future anyway.

I guess it all depends on whether you see yourself upgrading anything in the next year or not.......

Per core and per Mhz the Kaveri beats Vishera. The number of cores is unchanged and the Kaveri hold the technological advantage in form of 28nm vs 32nm.

AM3/AM3+ motherboards tends to be big and more reliant of the power circuits. FM2/FM2+ motherboards tends to be available in more favourable formats.

Of course the situation would change if the OP would decide to go for the FX 6300 instead, but that depends of his budget allocation.

EDIT: If I could suggest a different SSD, Transcend SSD370 or Sandisk X110 are better choices (especially the x110, it is like a MX100).

Yeah, it's more of a "do you see yourself upgrading any time soon?". 5% less now for a 100%+ extra headroom in the future, can be an excellent trade-off depending on your plans.

I take it you have a hard drive already? Trying to squeeze new games onto a 120GB would be a huge hassle.

Assuming you have other storage for games that's a perfectly good components list. I'd change a few things for my personal use (260X 2GB and 8GB of memory) but I can't suggest anything that would categorically be better.

Although I would consider EVGA's 500W model as was only a pound or two more last time I checked.
