Tagan 480W

Finally got around to opening up my Tagan 480W, and was wondering where exactly to put the grounding cable?

Also, the motherboard connector is different from what I've seen on the internet - instead of having to use an adapter, there is simply four extra wires that clip onto the side of the motherboard connector - how long has it been like that? (It confused me for a few minutes since I was looking for an adapter! Not that I'm complaining - I think it's better this way.)

There is 3 different revisions of the Tagan and sounds like you got the 3rd revision! Looks better as well!

I never hooked the ground up and no probs here.

Hook it anywhere that you can screw too.

That sounds as if you have the newest revision of the tagan with the Quick connect clips so it can be changed from 20 to 24 pin ATX very easily.

I recently built a 3500+ 939 system and attached the grounding cable to the floppy caddy, as long as the tagans connected to the case then its just another "security" precaution in case anything does go "pear-shaped".

As for other things you might find an issue - I had a small problem finding somewhere to hide all the cables once it was installed in the system without looking like a birds nest.

I was thinking of attaching it to a spare PCI slot - would that be alright?

And I see what everybody means about the cables - there is quite a lot!

Just make sure its in contact with the case and you should be fine
Like big moneyboy up there says, its just an extra precaution

I used all the velcro straps to attach the cables neatly to one side of the case, so that It didn't obscure the view of the motherboard, do you have to remove the plastic like thing from the grounding cable for it to work as I didn't bother with it. The weight of the beast took me by suprise, used no effort to remove my 350W generic feather weight, used a crane to pick up the Tagan

Yep heavy PSU is a good sign of good PSU

The PCP+C psu is even heavier than the tagan!

I have the previous version ( i realise now) and ended up changing the coolermaster case for a TT Tsunami - the length of the power supply meant that I couldn't fit it in. Compared to my previous Enermax it is definitely longer and heavier. Solid 5V line and no probs at all powering the dual Athlon system...

It doesn't fit? I have a tsunami and was going to get a tagan, but that's made me think twice...
Do you think it would fit if the USB/firewire hub thing was removed?

Doesn't it depend on how long your drives are, I had to swap round my A05 for my Sony dvd-rom to get it to fit in an Antec super Lan boy.

Got it in now, no problems - and used the space at the top of my case to tuck all the spare cables away neatly, so no problems there either. Those velcro bands really are handy!

I meant I couldn't fit it into the coolermaster case. It fits into the Tsunami TT no probs...
