Intel cpu difference

Hello all hoping to get new cpu next week I need help a wee bit do I go for intel g3258 or i3 4130 or i3 4330 I will be using the igp for awhile until I get gpu I know the i3 core have hd4400 and hd4600 which one would be better thanks j

If you are planning on purchasing a discrete GPU later, I presume that means you will be doing some gaming.....

If that is the case, then either of the i3's will be better overall due to hyperthreading.

That review shows what various options can do with integrated graphics, and also if you add a graphics card. That is why in the other thread I suggested getting a Pentium and a graphics card for the same price as an i5. Bit more difficult to get Pentium and graphics card for the cost of an i3, but I am sure it is still the best way to go as it means you can do some gaming from day one.

Second hand man, second hand! If you are in no rush you might bag a i5 (second hand) from eBay for a price close to a new i3 (I know I did, my i5 costed £100 with cooler inc shipping).

Or choose an i3 and save further cash (i3 CPUs from around £50-60).

If budget is tight or you don't want to 'waste' money:

i3-4130 - £60 - CeX (difference vs the i3-4330 is 3MB L3 cache and 3.4Ghz operational frequency which translates to 3-5% performance difference)

i3-4130 - £10 inc P&P now - 5d 17h left eBay auction

I got my old 3470 for £81 on eBay which was a great deal. Just have to be patient, and some really good deals can be had.

No problem, most of us here have other things we need to spend money on and we do like hunting out a bargain on Hexus

Ok, not a fan of second hand personally but that is just me. Going back to the graphs in that review I posted earlier, how good your CPU is starts to really kick in if you spend £200 or more on a graphics card, at the low and mid range it doesn't make much difference but getting away from integrated graphics is a massive upgrade. So, sticking to £100 as that is the cost of a new i3 I would go for:

£47 R5 250 1GB DDR5 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Radeon-GDDR5...dp/B00FSC513G/

The settings would have to be on the low side, but you can game on that.

Note, don't be tempted by the 2GB version of that graphics card if you go this route, the memory is slower and speed trumps size on graphics card memory.

I shall leave it to BoneBreaker to see if he can find an i3 and 260X second hand for the same money

Pentium G2120 for £20. Into my NAS (thanks for enthusiasts, XPEnology can scale frequency now. Intel EIST for everybody).

Just hunt and wait. A bargain always comes along.
