    Shuttle Stupidity

Been running my SN45 for quite a while now and on both aircooling and the watercooling set-up's i've used i've only had a few teething problems with overheating etc.

3 days ago I came to turn the system on and it refused to post, no signal through to the screen or anything. I've bled the watercooling system, re-seated the cpu several times, checked the ram and the gfx card.

I've gone through just about every check I can think of with it and nothing happens, it just sits there hdd whirring and fan on full until i pull the plug.

Anyone got any idea's as to what this could be caused by? And if people tell me its the hdd i'm going to be rather annoyed as i've only just formatted and re-installed

I've had similar problems, changed graphics card, memory, psu and even motherboard! to no effect. I can only think of two things, aliens or the full moon, but seriously what else can it be, stupid computers.

I just had to RMA an sk83g cos after every 10th reboot it would sit there with te fans blaring, but not actually restarting.

Shuttle told me to check my chip cooling and reset the bios...... no good.

    New Shuttle eliminated problem.

    sorry Bud.

yes i fixed it and it was a overheating problem. i installed a new cpu, thermal paste and shim. guess what, that stupid shim was the problem. the stupid thing worked fine for 8 months with the shim. now i got enough parts to build another. maybe the wife will let out of the doghouse to build it. thanks for asking
