    PC build help!

I have to rebuild my pc after it went down on me, it happened in 2003 that summer when it was REALLY hot, and its been sitting around not being fixed so figured now was a good a time as any. it has an Asus A7N8X dlx board, athlon xp2100 (more than enough for what I need) and power supply, dvd/cd drives...oh and a case, keyboard mouse etc. and will also be getting a tft.
I've managed to get hold of an old computer but it runs win98 (can't handle xp) and scrabbled together about 300Mb of ram but its so slow (500mhz, P3!), stuffed my gf2 64mb vidoe card in and i can access emails etc which is fine but i plan to get a digital camera and current set up isn't acceptable cause it just wont handle it!!

What I need help on though is a decent sized [quiet?] hard drive, quite fans, an ok graphics card - say around £50-70 - and 512/1g memory. the thing is I'm not hugely technical - what would work best with what I have? I read somewhere certain types of memory cause problems and i'm pretty sure thats what did it last time...it just refused to turn on in the end. i'd say i have roughly £200 to play with, clearly paying less is always better though!
    any help would be great

Theoritcally sata HDD are slightly faster, they are also a lot easy to connect as he cables are thin. But i have met several ppl who have trouble installing win xp with sata HDD. I would stay clear, unless the system is high end.
