The AMI BIOS that was point and click?
Yup, it looked like Windows 3.1 - and you navigated through it with a mouse.
Anybody remember it?

No, I personally cant remember it, but any particular reason why?
Yeap .. I know a friend that has that bios on his PC still :) Its an old PC World cast off system - probably about 600-900 Mhz with a voodoo 2 the last time I checked.Quote:

I must admit I find the text menu's easier to work with.
However when I updated the bios on my oldest computer, i was diappointed to see the GUI replaced with boring text.
I have a Super Micro PIII 450MHz server board with that BIOS. Runs SETI 24/7. It's cool but since it's not common the text is easier (more familiar).
I have been at this game since 1980, I can't remember it either.
Yep, I remember those.
I also remember some old IBM ThinkPads had a mouse controller BIOS, with a little flying duck cursor...
Yeah, I remember that.. :)Quote:

Yep - I had that on my first PC (486 DX33) and we've still got some PII/300 PCs at work with that style of BIOS.Quote:

Still running Debian on a P6SBA here. They were very nice boards.Quote:

Neverhad one myself. One of my mates had that sort of Bios on a 486 era machine. I much prefer award bioses.
Still have a Pentium 60 sitting here with that BIOS IIRC :)
Dam you beat me in slowness. I still have that BIOS on a Pentium 90! Pure Extreme speedQuote:
