    Question Budget Gaming Build

    Hi folks!

Returning to the PC gaming community from consoles with a max budget of £500. No OS, keyboard or mouse required, just a new base unit.

Hope you guys can help spec me a decent build, it's been awhile.

If you paste this link into your web browser : uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/QM3b99
This is a quick build I put together, no disc drive, 1TB will do for now, GPU may need upgrading soon. Be interested to hear what you think.

    Re: Budget Gaming Build

An extra £34 on the graphics card will get you an R9 285 http://www.ebuyer.com/715613-vtx3d-r...-285-2gbd5-dhx

That is about double the performance of a 260X http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1044?vs=1333

I would drop the aftermarket cooler (at least for now) and downgrade the motherboard to improve the graphics.

(problem with pcpartpicker is that is it much harder for others to play with the build when making suggestions).

    Re: Budget Gaming Build

Thanks for the spec, certainly given me something to base my new build on. Any more suggestions?
