BIOS battery depletes after 2 weeks

When I go away from home for around 10 days leaving my computer off, I always find it dead on my return. The cause turned out to be my BIOS battery, I tried Duracell, Energizer etc, but it always depletes after 2 weeks absence. Costs me $4 each time + the battery slot has already had enough changes (no wonder, normally u change BIOS battery once in 10 years) and I'm afraid next time the metal piece breaks.

Anyone else had this? Any solutions? Mobo = ecs k7s5a

This may be related.

Unfortunately the very fast ECS k7s5a had real quality issues at the factory. Also the bios tends to be a bit flakey, they do die after a while.

Having read Kez's post try flashing to the latest bios if you're up to it.

I used to have a K7S5A and yeah the BIOS was a bit dodgy. It used to lose it's settings occasionally. I never had any problems with the battery though, and the loss of settings was probably something to do with the unofficial overclocking BIOSes that I kept loading onto it :P
