It would be fast with a single 970, two is overkill at that res.

If you've got one then you know the answer to that already. If it's fast enough stick with it. If it's not, buy another. Not quite sure why you need our help

Nah, that will be god-awful and like playing on a Commodore64.

Sell the card and buy a pair of twin 12GB Titans instead... Friend of mine did that (back when they cost about a grand each) with the exact same setup you have and his is awesome in 1440, so yours would be stunning!!
Then watercool it throughout and smash some benchmark scores, before getting bored and swapping the lot for an X99 rig!

But no, your exsiting should be just fine!

Re: Will my PC be fast at 1080p

It depends on the horizontal pixel count, knowing you've got 1080 pixels vertically means nothing - and games and monitors have never been anything other than progressive so the P is pretty pointless too.

1920x1080 will be fine will graphics cards costing four times the price of an average monitor, a triple monitor setup at 7680x1080 will be much slower and would be the sort of display a lot of 970 SLI pairs are bought for.

I have a similar spec pc to yours, also running a 970. My gpu is coping fine at 1440p, so I doubt you'll find many games that struggle at 1080p, let alone need sli. My advice would be to save your money and not buy another 970, unless you move to 1440p or 4k resolution. Maybe wait until the next gpu series is out next year?

Re: Will my PC be fast at 1080p

If you're looking to spend the money on something, I'd be buying and i5-6600k and a ASUS RoG Maximus VIII Ranger.

Just saying. £350 for new motherboard and processor or £270 for another GPU for absolutely no reason

Going from a 3770k to a 6600k is even more a case of spending money for no reason.
